Prof. Horst Sievert participated in the 25th CardioInterv congress in Curitiba (Brazil) and contributed to the scientific program with a lecture on new evidence in left atrial appendage (LAA) closure.
His presentation included a cautious and preliminary interpretation of the CLOSURE AF trial, noting that the study has not yet been published and all conclusions remain provisional.
Two live cases were performed together with the local team, including a successful LAA closure in a patient with an uncommon and challenging appendage morphology using a 28 mm Amulet device.
